Project 1: Experiential Landscape

 

Introduction

Landscape architecture is designated to integrate people with the outdoor environment in a way to make people appreciate nature. It involves all aspects of the outdoor environment from the design of intimate gardens to the planning and management of land areas. People use this space most of the time; when they leave a building, they will have to pass by an open space to reach next destination. Public open space is considered as a park that acts as a getaway for city residents to escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. A park should provide a natural setting, or so called ‘pleasure gardens’. “Place making is both an overarching idea and a hands-on tool for improving a neighborhood, city or region. It has the potential to be one of the most transformative ideas of this century”.

 

The objectives of this project:

 To identify and describe the characteristics of a park by conducting a research according to the topics given.

 To demonstrate understanding and explanation of landscape features and elements in a park.

 

This was my 1st group project in FNBE courses. 

Our group name was "Sunny".

Group Sunny represents by leader,Adam ,Calvin Wong Ki Ming , Christina , Jia San ,Wing Chun & Chun Shian

Lecture had been giving us a title for this project , for ou r group our tittle was "POCKET PARK"

My first thinking about it ....a clothes pocket ??? a small park???

But after I do the research on it , I had realise that  pocket park was a small park at residential area or commercial area for people t o relaxing.

We had done a site visit on this project , one of our member had go for Melacca for site visit .

Through this project I had learn about teamspirit , communication to others and presentation skills.
